Brethren, as I stand before you, I tell you,we are at war, This war is not a physical one, But this is a war for the mind and the spirit, Where the only devil we face is the one that we see in the mirror every time we wake up to brush our teeth, A devil that stares back at us, And calls out all our past mistakes, And our greatest regrets. One by one as our heads slowly begins to fall, As we bow down to the devil in the mirror, For he has shown us that his vision is clearer, And our vision is default, And his presence overtakes ours, Bringing back the fear and the darkness of long memories passed, Reminding us of each fault and each failure, Each mistake made that inflicted a wound, And left a scar as a personal reminder, That he will always be near. We are at war my brethren, At war with the devil that we only see in the mirror, He is the devil that that has led many men in their thousands to the bottle,
where they battle their demons everyday, Only to wake up sober the very next day, With the same unfulfilled-ness feeling of yesterday. He is the same devil that has led the many women of the village to an early grave, And yet death only catching up with them at an old age, Because he makes them forget that in order to live you have to be alive, Alive to feel the goodness that the world brings, The different smells and the different sites, And the beautiful stars that are shown on those clear sky nights. We are at war my brothers and sisters, And we are fighting against the devil in the mirror, An enemy that knows us through and through,
Because he is in each and everyone of us, Because he is us, He is the voice that wakes you up late at night to build your anxiety, He is the part of us that craves the destruction of society, Because he ,himself really knows that we crave chaos and destruction, Not because we are evil creatures of creation, But because we crave attention and acceptance, And we rarely attain it hence we are cursed to forever fight with the devil in the mirror, Who is us, Who our character, And thus brethren we are at war,
And this is our holy fight,
Where we fight for every men,
By saving each man,
As we turn the tide of the fight against the Devil in the mirror.
