From a parent to a child/My Child

My child, oh my dear child,

My gift to myself,

My gift to the world,

I see that you have grown and you have evolved,

You have achieved a lot and made me proud,

You have done all that a mother could have ever asked for,

And you have achieved everything that a father could ever dream,

And now the time has come for you start living for yourself,

The time for you to choose your own path.

Which I know, may seem scary at the beginning,

But be calm before the storm,

Because it shall come to pass and you will still be there,

Standing with your head held up high.

I know that many have told you of what to expect and not to expect,

And some have obviously told you that the world is a dark place,

With nothing inside it,

Hollow like the baobab tree,

But what I tell you today is that,

Be the light in the world that you seek,

Be that beam of light that shines on lonely hearts,

Be the one that break the walls that keep people apart,

and lastly be the change that you want to see,

Because men are still good, because you yourself are good,

So don't let bad days dampen your spirit,

Because there is nothing worse than a crippled spirit,

So be prepared for the worst but remember to expect the best,

And I know some may say hope is the comfort of a fool,

But I would rather be a comforted and enjoying fool,

That be a pessimistic Wiseman who wishes for the release of death,

So my child make haste and prepare,

Be ready to spread your wings and sore into the sky,

For today is the first day of your legacy,

Make your choices logically but also from a point of compassion and love,

And if it ever gets too hard just know that I'm hear to always remind you to keep your head held up high,

And to give you kind words of encouragement,

And with that be blessed my child,

And take care my child.
